  2. The recommendations I chose were the following: plan to-do lists, make time for important things, and eliminate interruptions.
I have always kept to-do lists in my mind, so this weekend there was no difference. I continued to do what works for me. I really enjoy hanging out with friends and thats what I did most of this past weekend. However I brought along my study items and homework assignments. I still had fun. I, on the otherhand, did not eliminate interruptions. I still did my work either in front of the tv, while I was with friends, while eating, or while texting.
The video did feel that the video helped improve my time management skills because the recommendations and suggestions seemed to really pertain to what I am trying to accomplish.

  4. The recommendations I chose were the following: plan each day(to-do lists), complete my hardest tasks first, and to scan phone calls. For each of these recommendations I was able to partially initiate them, but throughout the last few days I felt myself drifting away from these helpful recommendations. The content of the video was able to help me look deeper into the distractions in my everyday life and it helped me to realize, if I was to be able to manage my time efficiently then I would need to initiate better habits, which I attempted.

  5. 1. My the recommendations I chose were goal setting, a filing system, and learning to say no.

2.Seting my goals was easy, the challenge is following through with them. I am currently setting up my filing and it is almost complete.
Today I have denied to participating in some daily activites with my friends.

3.The video has given me great tips on managing time. I really feel as though that I have the upperhand on my time, instead of it controlling me.

  6. The recommendations that caught my attention and I tried to follow are: do the ugliest things first, prioritize and be inspired to accomlish.

As far as doing the ugliest things first, Im 80% succesful on that one since i find it rather easy to work my way down through tasks doing the hardest tasks first.I would still say that I fully completed it.
I have been 65%-70% succesful when it comes to prioritizing. This week I prioritized my tasks and put them to categories depending on the date they are due. It has been helpful in making me not worry about the tasks too much if they are not due the next 2 days. This one I would say has been partially completed.
Being inspired to accomplish is really big for me. It is my motivation into pushing myself to succeed in the small and big tasks. Implementing my schedule and tasks are something I have to use my motivation on. I do it for the my folks and the people I love. I have a very long list of the people who motivate and inspire me and they have been a really big help to me. This one has also been fully completed.

Yes this video and Randy's recommendations helped improve my time management skills. He spoke of things that I never thought would work. Time is gold and if think of time like how I think about money, then I think I would be very succesful.

    P.S.
If you can see my picture forgive me about it. I will change that when I can. This google account of mine has been created in a very long time so I didnt get to update my pictures and stuff. THank you

  7. 1. The recommendations that I chose were the following: make a to-do list, schedule/plan every day, week, month etc, and to learn how to scan phone calls.

    2. Making a to-do list and sticking to it, was not a success for me. For some odd reasons, a lot of distractions took place that interfered with me completing the tasks on my to-do list.
-Planning my days was very helpful. I made as much effort as possible to complete the goals that I set for myself for that day.
-Scanning my calls was a challenge. I found it difficult to find balance between an informative conversation and getting straight to the point. This is something I need to work on.

    3. I feel as if the video was very helpful. The tips that I have learned, has made scheduling my time less of a hassle.

  8. 1. my 3 recommendations were:(plan each day, each week, each semester)(do the ugliest thing first)(do most important and do soon assignment 1st,important but not do soon 2nd,not important but do soon 3rd, and not important and not do soon 4th).

    2. my first reccommendation i completed fully. i now know everything i need to do ahead of time and now have no confusion. my second reccommendation i did not complete it at all because i havent been assigned anything tough to do yet. my third reccommendation i completed partially. so far my most important assignment was to read and i did that and now everything else just falls into order.

    3. in my opinion i will say that the video was great for good tips. it was very helpful but i feel that i already managed my time well but there is always room for improvement.

  9. 1. My three recommendations were: sort to do list by importance and due date, use time gaps wisely, and don't procrastinate.
    2. I did not complete my first recommendation to sort to do list by importance and due date. I did sort my to-do list by due date but I didn't support my to-do list by importance. My second recommendation, use time gaps wisely, I completed successfully. Whenever I had an hour or even 45 minutes free I would use that time to complete some homework or to study for a quiz or test. I completed my third recommendation, do not procrastinate. I never waited till the last minute or the day before to do an assignment as long as i could avoid it.
    3. In my opinion the video did help my time management skills. These recommendations allowed me to get more work done in a shorter amount of time.

  10. 1. My three recommadations i went by this past week were manage your time well makes you sucessful.Having a to do list and do the uglyest thing first. And monitor your time and write down in your journal.
2.Ipartically manage my time well to make me sucessful. I never even made a to do list to do the uglyest thing on there and i fully monitor my time and wrote down in my journal.
3.Yes the video lecture and my three recommadations help me manage my time wisely. If you set goals for yourself and apply by the rules you will always be successfulin your field.

    1) The recommendations that I chose were:

    A. You should always do things right, it's about being accurate.

    B. Planning is very important! "Failing to plan is planning to fail."

    C. Work-Life Balance

2)My recommendations, I believe I met them fully I've gotten away from just doing things right, being accurate is what I'm working hard and still is progress of doing.

Secondly, planning has become very imperative for me it's how I get my day started from when to take a shower to even being in my last class. It gets me that far, and planning relieves stress knowing what's next is always helpful.

Lastly, balance work and life in my circumstance "school and life." I'm learning the things that can effect your studies won't effect them unless you let them. Meaning, don't let your personal life hinder you from becoming more successful and focused like you need to be.

3)Even though the video was borderline corny. I really enjoyed the help on time management as far as it being something that can be an access to success. Dr. Pausch seems like he's a great instructor and influences a lot of lives through his teaching. "Two Thumbs Up!"

  12. 1. The recommendations that I selected were: make to do lists, find my most productive time period and to have a filing system.
    2. I made a to do list for today and it is helping because I don't have to remember everything and I don't always feel like I am forgetting to do something! My productive time seems to be while I am in class or right after I wake up from a nap (I just woke up). As far as the filing system goes, I have been doing this for as long as I can remember but not how he does. I keep my papers organized by class. A different color folder and notebook seems to do the job, and if it is not for a class it has its' own seperate folder labeled "important papers".
    3. No, I do not think that it helped because I already knew all the things he said, I just chose not to utilize them.

  13. 1.The three recomandations I choose were deal with procrastination, Make a schedule for yourself and plan.
    2. Deal with procrastination I felt I implemented it fully to do that the day I was assigned the assignment I did it that day instead of waiting until the day it was due are the day before. Make a shedule I fell I also implemented fully because I carry a calendar with me and write out my day and assignments so that way I know what I need to do and when.Plan I feel I did well in that too because by making a schedule for myself I was able to plan everything else around what was and what was not important.
3.I think the video and the ideas that he stated helped me out a lot because it just make your day to tay task go by smoother and not be so stressful if you do have a ton of homework I can pace myself and take it day by day.

  14. 1. The recommendations that I chose were: to start planning more, do things that are important first, and learn to say no.
    2. I bought a planner last week and I have been writing down everything I have plan for the week; it seems to be helping me get things done easier and faster. As far as doing things that are important first its taking me a little longer to getting that accomplished because I tend to do everything at the last minute sometimes. Learning to say no is pretty is easy because I'm starting to get things done without any distractions.
    3. Yes, I think his video really helped my time management skills because I'm the type of person who does things at the last minute and let others distract me easily and I feel like I'm improving.

  15. 1. The reccomendations I chose are:
    a. Sort with Priority
    b. Not being vauge
    c. Learn to say no
2.This week I got a planner and put down the most important things and implemented it fully by staying on top of things. Also when I wanted something done I was not vauge about it I was specific and that helped me decide what needed to be done and the importance of it. Lastly I began to say no to my friends when they would try to get me to go out when I needed to be studying.
3.Yes I feel ths video and ideas helped me out a great deal. I'm already starting to plan better and feel as though this will continue and keep me organized throughout life.

  16. 1.One of the recommendations i chose was planning.I partialy used it because when bout of three of my plans didnt go as i expected i just gave up.

2.Another one of my choices was learning to say no.I didnt use it at all. Just saying no isnt me, when i say no i feel like i have done something wrong.

3.My last choice was putting important things first. I used this fully.Every since the video i have started to put the important things first and my social life second.

I feel that the video was somewhat helpful.it has helped me really realize how important planning can be.

  17. 1. The three recommandations I chose from the powerpoint were; making a to do list, doing things that are urgent first, and worrying about the things that matter.
    2. I recently began using a to do list to get my assignments done for my classes. It has helped me out alot and I'm getting alot of work done now. I also have started doing assignments that are due before others. Lastly, I've been focusing on the thingss that matter, basically not worrying about drama or distractions.
    3. I feel that the video has helped me alot on my time management. I'm going to continue to work on managing my time wisely.

  18. My recommendations were:
    1. Have good judgement when managing time; I used this partially because I had a lot to do this week, but I felt like I procratinated a little too.
    2. Use a calendar; I used this fully, because again I had more to do and it was important to keep everything in order.
    3. Post notes and reminders; I used this fully, because there was so much to do this week.

Watching this video was very helpful to me because it is important to orgainize and keep yourself on track. It makes life a whole lot easier.

  19. my three tasks or objectives that i chose to follow were
    1. To-do lists...i did this fully i mapped out all my things that needed to be done and i made it happen
    2. Post notes and reminders...i used this partially because i didnt post everything that needed to be posted i remembered some things myself
    3. Dont procrastinate...i did this partially also because i still waited to the last minute to do an assignment even though it was easy.!

Watching the video was a little helpful it made me realize that even the smallest of things really can distract someone and i need to start managing time alot better.

  20. The recommendations I chose were the following: complete the hardest thing first, plan each day (make a to-do list), and buy a planner. By doing the hardest thing first I found out that it was much better for me to do and at the end of the day less stressful. Making a to-do list was easy but sticking to it was very difficult to do. Over the weekend I went out and bought a planner and wrote done assignments and important dates which so far has been helpful. Over all I feel as if this video was very informing and helpful with managing your time better.

The recommendations that I chose were: Have a plan, Have a to do list, and Have something to remind you, where you need to be.
    1. Having a plan, is something that I partially used because things always come up and interupt the plan.
    2. Having a to do list, is something that I recently started using that is very helpful. The to do list reminds me to do all my homework and assignments.
    3. I have yet to find a way to remind me of important things and where I need to be.

I feel that the video did help me with my time management skills. I gave me new ways to stay organized and prepared.

  22. My three recommendations that I selected was to group my calls, plan each day, each week, each semester, and my last one was if I have alot of things to do, do the most time consuming one first. I didn't group any of my calls. By not grouping any of my calls it didn't take up any time because I would talk on the phone while I was walking somewhere or I would just multitask. I actually did take advantage of planning each day, each week and each semester. I usually plan out my day on a regular basis but I have never planned out a whole week or a semester before. So far it has helped me manage my time better and I don't have to rush to do anything lately. I fully implemented doing the the things that take up the most time first. After I do the things that take the most time I can fly right through everything else I have to do, so that works out perfectly fine. The video made a slight affect on my time management skills. It didn't make a major difference on my time because some of the tips that were recommended I already began to do.

  24. The recommendations I chose were Plan a to do list, Do the Ugliest thing first and Don’t Procrastinate. When I first tried the Plan a to do list I knew I had to put things down that I knew would get done and I was able to accomplish each thing on the list. Do the ugliest things first was partially accomplish, the ugliest thing first for me was trying to clean my bathroom and room but I just couldn’t find the time to accomplish it fully. Don’t Procrastinate was heavily used throughout the week, I tried to get all my school work done before sitting down and relaxing. I felt like the video help me improve my time management by showing me how to use my time wisely and get things done in a timely way.

  25. The three recomendations that I chose were; making a to- do list, balancing my work days, do the ugliest things first. I have been implementing these three things in everything that I have had to do and it has worked out great. I have a very busy life that comes with alot of responsibilty, so organization is a must. These things have been ecellent in helping me stay on track.

  26. The recommendations that I selected were: a to-do list, get a planner, and use imaginary deadlines. I have implemented all of the recommendations fully. The to-do list was beneficial in organizing my tasks for the day. The planner and imaginary deadlines helped me to remember to do all of my assignments ahead of time. All of the recommendations did help improve my time-management skills slightly. The difficult part is implementing those recommendations consistently.

  27. I chose to, first, make a "To Do" list with the most important tasks that i needed to finish this past Sunday. I added ten tasks that I needed to finish. One that was included was narrowing my E-mail account to less than 20 E-mails and another was to get organized, especially in my bedroom. I accomplished seven out of my ten tasks on my "To Do" list for Sunday and got to the other three later in the week. But I did narrow my E-mail account to 17 E-mails and I did clean and organize my room quite well. I feel that this exercise helped me out throughout the week with time management. Telling myself to finish everything on the "To-Do" list by the end of Sunday made me work a lot harder to finish it rather than not establishing a deadline. It was much quicker getting what I needed out of my room after cleaning and organizing it. And now, when I log into my E-mail, it opens a few seconds quicker rather than loading up all 1,127 E-mails. I'm already seeing progress. I just hope I can stay consistent with this lifestyle.

1.List the recommendations that you selected.
    2. For each recommendation post whether or not you implemented it fully, partially, or not at all with an explanation of the outcome.
    3. Discuss if you felt that the video and these recommendations helped you improve your time management skills.

-I decided after watching the video that I would follow the more essential recommendations such as thinking of your money and time as they are the same,
Breaking to do list down by due dates and approaching things as if it is my number one priority.
I have successfully used these recommendations as the opportunity to use them comes along.
I believe that the video was able to spread knowledge to everyone in the classroom including myself and helped us get a sense of what needs to be done. -Jalen Rawls

  29. -The three recommendations I chose were , do the "ugliest" thing first , sort your to do list , and limit your interruptions with a time frame/limit.
-I believe these recommendations helped me with my time management skills a lot . Because I do have a tight schedule and by me getting the "ugliest" thing out of the way first makes things easier. Also sorting my to do list by importance helps me priortize my schedule , and get the most important things taken care of . Last but not least , limiting my interruptions with a time frame can keep me on my schedule and not have to worry about running late . So I believe all of these recommendations were valuable with my schedule.
-The video overall just gave extra tips and information that I didn't know at the beginning . So I feel the video was very informational and helpful .

  30. 1. From the lecture we watched in class, the 3 recommendations that I choose was, make an organized to do list, set goals, and schedule myself.

    2. I feel like I fully implemented the all of these recommendations. I made a organized to do list using his 4 quandrant methods. To help me organize what is important, what is due soon, and what is not important. My schedule consisted of organizing, sorting, and remebering important dates that I personally had to get done. The goals I set consisted of short and long term goals, that I planned to accomplish for the year.

    3. I feel as if this video truly helped me organize myself and just made me feel more confident when it came to procrastinating and getting things done on time. In addition, the lecture helped me see what was important, and ultimately helped me manage my time more effectively.

  31. 1.From the lecture, the three reccendations I chose: Think about time and money as the same thing, Think about what will happen if you don't do something on the to do list, and fail to plan is planning to fail.

2.I fully implemented all three recommendations. I began to spend my time more wisely on things as I would do my money, I began to free up time by not doing things that I thought were necessary but were really up to my choosing to do and I began to plan out my days ahead of time so I wouldn't be planning myself to fail in the end.

    3. I believe the video did help me increase my time management skills because now I feel less stressed and cramped about doing things. I feel as tho planning my day ahead of time gives me a sense of direction and not chaos throghout the day and I will continue to use these methods to keeep improving my time

  32. 1.The three recommendations that i chose wer; goal setting, planning the day, and complete the hardest task first.

2a.(goal setting)- I believe that i met this recommendation and it was very helpful, because goal setting is a easier way to get the things done that i need to do.

b.(plan the day)- I think that if i plan out my day it will go smoother and the things that i need to get done will be done in an orderly fashion and they wont be pushed aside by the things that are not important.

c.(complete the hardest task 1st) this recommendation will give me more time to focus on all my tasks instead of spending the majority of my time on one tasks.

3.The video was very helpful to me, although it was boring it heleped me realize that i am not the only person who has trouble managing my time wisely and now i have three good recommendations that i can use daily in doing so.

  33. 1. Manage your time like you manage your money, make a plan for the week, keep a to-do list so you know what all you have to do.

    2. I have only implemented these recommendations partially because even when I make a to-do list I always forget to go back, and look at it.

    3. The video have help me manage my time, I don't procastinate as much as I use to.

  34. There are three recommendations from Randy Pausch that I felt would help me get things that are important or minor done. The to-do list is the first thing that I think helps me the most. I say this because when I started on my to-do list it made it easier for me to remember what needs to get done for today. This is now a must in my blackberry. By me having a to-do list makes my timing better. For example, it lets me know when it’s time to have fun and when it’s time to focus. Next, is making an imaginary class for studying. I have not fully fulfilled this recommendation, but I know this is something I’m a have enforce for me to not only make better scores, but understand better. Last but not least, I need to stop procrastinating. I have started on it but I need to get better. I have a bad habit of saying I’m a do something at a certain time, and when that time comes it never get done. Once I prefect these three things I know I’m going to be more reliable. I can tell just off the improvement in the last couple days, so Randy Pausch’s recommendations defiantly better my time management skills.

  35. #1 i would keep a note pad of things in the order they need to be done (planning calendar), at the beginning of the week you can plan your week so that you wont have to do it everyday and asol through the week you can go and add on if you need to,i think the management calendar helps alot also
#2 i chose a small little note pad so that you can keep it in your pocket or purse and as you go throughout your day you can check off as you go. I chose to plan at the beginning of your week because if you do that you wouldnt have to rudh and plan everyday and leave stuff out but if you start at the beginnig you can add as you go if you need to. the time management calandar helps you to manage you time period aslong as you stick to that you wont get off track
#3 the video helped alot with time management it showed alot of ways to help me keep up with my schedule and not miss out on thing or stress about keeping up

I got me a headset and it made things much more easier than what i usually go through with phone calls.

    3. I felt both of the two were good help and advice. The two also made me realize the important things i do and dont do.

  38. 1. 3 recommendations that I applied for myself to follow for this school year were to create a to-do-list, get help while help is avaliable, and reframe from procrstinating.

    2. I have used two of the 3 recommendations which are create a to-do-list and get help while help is avaliable. I have always made a to-do-list but I'm using it more now than I have before. I also now ask questions concerning work while I am in the presence of my teacher because its not always possible to get in contact with teachers after class time.

    3. The video did not help me improve my time management but it did help me consider what I should do. I've always been aware of what to do to manage my time.

2.The three reccomendations i've applied is being used effectively, my time journal have me on time now for eveything I do, I have now stop turning and doing assignments at the last minute, and my deligations has imprved my thoughts completly.

3.I feel that the video and these recommendations are helping me by the minute it still nedd time to progress fully.

  40. 1-The first and most important recommendation I chose was not to loose sight of inspiration. The "you can do it" inspirstion has been truely lacking. As I am a mature student I have tried 4 time to obtain a degree. I have been fortunate to have studuied in universities in both New-York and in London. Both time major life changin hurdles arose and I was not able to clear them. I am once again back on the track as it were to obtain my degree. I will be the first in my family to have done so. Belive it or not I found inspiration from the video. Here is a man who knows he is going to die and still manages to have a full life and a great sense of humor. SO I have put into practice what I chose to take from the video. I will obtain my degree!

    ReplyDelete
  41. 2- Thinking time about the financila worth was my second to do Item.I took on a job this semester not because I really needed it but because I was just being greedy and wanted more MONEY!I found myself under alot of pressure to maintain both a job and keep up with my studies.I decided that it is beter to spend time focusing on my studies at present and to obtain a quality degree. The financial worth of the degree is grater in the future than the momentary financial gain of today.
3- My third to do on the list was to have fun. I often find that I stress out because I really desire to be an A caliber student. Well I decided that I would take french this semester so as to able to speak 3 languages in oder to enhance my job prospects in this gobal economy we find ourselves in . I found myself taking it all too seriously.By the nature of the pronounciation of some of the words in French you can't help but to be embarrass yourself and to make somewhat of a fool of yourself.Well I have come to the conclusion that it's ok to do so in the process of learning something new.So I am not taking French so seriously and I am having lots and lots of fun!
Finally I did find the video very useful and also entertaining and yes I have practiced what Randy Pausch preached.
